For many of the Londoners we work with, finding a home is the final step into independence.

In London, this is far from easy. With social housing in short supply across the city, renting in the private rented sector is increasingly the only solution to help our clients leave homelessness behind and rebuild their lives.

But renting from a private landlord can be difficult for the people we support:

  • Rents are unaffordable in London, with some of the most expensive rental costs in the country
  • Expensive up-front costs including deposits are difficult to meet, particularly for those with low incomes or on benefits
  • Properties can often be in poor condition and unfit for purpose
  • Some tenancy agreements don't offer long-term security, meaning people are stuck in a cycle of repeat evictions and homelessness

How we help

Our private renting agency supports our clients to find good quality, stable and affordable homes - a place they can be proud of and call their own.

They do this by building strong relationships with landlords and agents to improve access to homes on the market.

94% of our clients housed in the private-rented sector sustain their tenancy for six months or more.

The team also works with landlords to reduce stigma, improve the standard of properties, and make rent deposits more affordable.

And it works. The people we support make incredible tenants, with 94% of our clients sustaining their tenancy for six months or more. By working with us, you can have a good reliable tenant in your property for the long term.
