Single Homeless Project is continuing to grow its impact across London with the launch of four new services that will help more people prevent homelessness, secure stable housing and rebuild their lives.
The expansion comes as homelessness continues to rise across the capital and reflects the charity’s commitment to turning the ambitions of its five-year strategy into action.
Over the past few months, the charity has opened three new services and is preparing to launch a fourth later this year:
- Camden Hub with its No Wrong Door approach is helping people access support earlier and more easily, putting the charity’s belief in prevention into practice.
- A new specialist service for young people in Camden is providing the stability, support and opportunities young Londoners need to build independent futures.
- In Westminster, the charity has expanded its Housing First offer, supporting people who have experienced long-term rough sleeping and multiple disadvantage to access stable housing and long-term support.
Later this year, St John’s Mansions in Islington will open, creating new homes and opportunities for people to move forward with greater independence and security.
Speaking at the annual staff conference, Chief Executive Liz Rutherfoord said the organisation is “expanding faster than at any point in recent years, not for growth’s sake, but because more people need support and Single Homeless Project is increasingly able to make a difference”.
While each service is different, together they represent the charity’s focus on earlier intervention, prevention, housing and helping people recover, rebuild and thrive.
The new services are part of a wider period of growth for Single Homeless Project, which is reaching more people, bringing in new expertise and partnerships, and strengthening its role in shaping conversations about homelessness across London.
