The Women’s Rough Sleeping Census, delivered in partnership by Single Homeless Project and Solace Women’s Aid, with support from Crisis and Change Grow Live, has won the Successful Partnerships Award at the 2026 Homeless Link Excellence Awards.
The award recognises the collaboration behind the census, which brings together homelessness organisations, women’s services and local authorities to uncover the true scale of women’s rough sleeping.
The census shines a light on the realities, risks and violence many women experiencing homelessness face, helping to build a better understanding of women’s homelessness and improve responses at local and national levels.
Since its launch, the census has grown from a pilot in Camden into a national collaboration involving over a 100 local authorities and organisations working together to gather evidence, improve services and drive change for women experiencing homelessness.
Lucy Campbell, Assistant Director of System Change at Single Homeless Project, said:
“We’re incredibly proud the Women’s Rough Sleeping Census has been recognised with this award. The success of the project is down to the strength of the partnership between Single Homeless Project, Solace Women’s Aid, Crisis and Change Grow Live, as well as the hundreds of organisations and local authorities that take part every year.”
“By working together, we have been able to build a clearer picture of women’s rough sleeping and ensure their experiences are better understood. This recognition reflects the commitment of everyone involved in improving support and outcomes for women experiencing homelessness, as we aim to shape more effective local and national responses to women’s homelessness.”
