Single Homeless Project presents Found, a new exhibition from its creative arts programme, ArtHouse, running from 1–4 May at White Conduit Projects, Islington.
Found brings together a striking collection of original work by six women who took part in Find and Form, an eight-week therapeutic course exploring found-object sculpture, where familiar, everyday materials are transformed into art.
Find and Form was led by artist Janetka Platun alongside Single Homeless Project psychotherapist Nicola Saunders, combining creative practice with therapeutic support.
Participants used art to reflect on their lives, including experiences that can be difficult to express, channelling these into bold, thoughtful pieces. The result is a collection that feels both intimate and expansive, grounded in lived experience and helping people rebuild confidence and process trauma. The artists explore themes of empowerment, transition and change, sharing stories that are deeply personal yet collectively powerful.
ArtHouse, our in-house creative arts programme, is built on the belief that creativity should be open to everyone. Available exclusively to people accessing our housing and support, it offers courses across a wide range of disciplines, led by professional artists and facilitators, creating space for expression, collaboration and growth. This exhibition offers a glimpse into the creativity and resilience of the Londoners the charity supports, and what can happen when people are given the opportunity to create and be heard.
This project was supported by the Islington Community Recovery Project 2025/26, funded by Islington Council. Through investment in community-led initiatives, the programme expands access to recovery-focused support, enabling people to take part in creative and therapeutic opportunities that strengthen wellbeing and connection.
