London Homelessness Awards

The Sport and Health Project team attended the London Homelessness Awards at City Hall in October. They received a commendation at the event. The team was  joined by clients Annie and Bernie who have both taken part in the project.

Artwork on show

It's been a busy few months for the Arthouse programme at SHP. Five pieces of artwork produced by two SHP clients were showcased at an exclusive art show this Friday in the heart of London’s West End for London Design Week (More here).  (More here). Artwork was also displayed at the British Museum.

Artwork produced by SHP clients was also exhibited at the One Festival of Homelessness for the fourth year running including an amazing Bee Mural from our Lewisham YP Service and a series of prints from our ‘Art and Nature’ workshops - created by residents from our hostel in Camden Town. (More here).

Gerard Mitchell from our Lewisham also performed a piece of poetry on the opening night of the festival.

First birthday for PLOS

To celebrate, the the Pan London Offender Service (PLOS) gathered to look at the year's achievements. Clients were invited to speak about the support that they received from the service.

Party in the sun

Clients from our Ashley Road service enjoyed a summer party at their local church, St Mary's Hornsey Rise. Hands up if you're missing that sunny weather already!

25 years and counting

The National Lottery - who fund our Fulfilling Lives Project as well as our Sports & Health Project through Sports England - have been celebrating #NationalLottery25 and clients at our activity sessions decided to join in. Happy 25th birthday to The National Lottery!

Getting Sporty

We were delighted to be part of London Sport #ActiveLondon Conference in September. Our Sports and Health Manager Eloise Moller was able to showcase our amazing #SportsHealthProject and speak about how we've used innovation to engage our homeless and vulnerable clients in health and exercise, with major health gains among participants.

Congrats to Ls'z

As you may have seen, Ls’z, an upcoming star from our #Soundhouse Project was shortlisted for the best original track 'Rolling Out' - handpicked out of more than 600 nominations by a prestigious panel made up of industry figures including AJ Tracey, Julie Adenuga, Rag'N'Bone Man and Edith Bowman. Ls'z didn't win, but we are super proud of her nomination anyway!

TeamSHP at Royal Parks Half

We can't say thank you enough to our amazing #TeamSHP runners, who ran a combined 335+ miles at the Royal Parks Half Marathon AND raised over £9,000 to help us support homeless Londoners! đź’Ş
