SMS Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

1. General
By providing your mobile number to Single Homeless Project, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing and informational SMS messages from us, unless you tell us that you do not wish to receive them. These messages may be sent to the mobile number you provided when signing up, or to another mobile number you later provide to us.

Message frequency will vary depending on our campaigns and your interactions with us. We may increase or decrease the number of messages we send from time to time. We also reserve the right to change the phone number, sender ID or shortcode used to send our messages.

Standard message and data charges may apply depending on your mobile network and tariff. If you have any questions about your messaging or data plan, please contact your mobile network provider.

Receiving marketing SMS messages is not a condition of making a donation, purchasing goods or services, or receiving support from Single Homeless Project, and you can opt out of these messages at any time without affecting any of the above.

2. Eligibility
By providing a mobile number to us, you confirm that you are the authorised user of that number, or that you have the account holder’s permission for us to send SMS messages to it.

3. Cancellation
You can opt out of our SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to one of our messages or by using the unsubscribe link included in the message (where available).

Once you have opted out, we will send you a confirmation message to let you know your request has been processed. You will not receive any further SMS marketing messages unless you choose to opt back in.

If you would like to receive SMS messages from Single Homeless Project again, please email fundraising@shp.org.uk and we will be happy to help you re-subscribe.

4. Help and Support
If you need support regarding our SMS messaging service, please email fundraising@shp.org.uk.

Where supported, you can also reply HELP to one of our messages to receive further information.

If our messages include a link, you may also use it to access our contact details, opt-out instructions and Privacy Policy.

5. Changing Your Mobile Number
If you change your mobile number or transfer it to another person, you should opt out by replying STOP, using the unsubscribe link (where available), or by contacting us at fundraising@shp.org.uk so we can update our records. This helps ensure that SMS messages are not sent to someone else using your previous number.

6. Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. For information about how we collect, use and protect your personal data, please read our Privacy Policy: https://www.shp.org.uk/our-policies/privacy-policy/

7. Changes to these Terms & Conditions
We may update these SMS Messaging Terms & Conditions or discontinue our SMS messaging service at any time.

Any changes will take effect as soon as they are published. If you do not agree with any changes, you should opt out of our SMS messages. Your continued receipt of messages after any changes have been published will constitute your acceptance of the updated Terms & Conditions.
