SHP is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Chair of Trustees, Jon Rosser.

Jon, who is currently the Chief Executive of an international children’s health charity,  has 20 years’ experience as a senior executive, including two Chief Executive roles and three roles as a Board Chair.

Jon spent many years working in social housing, starting his career as a Housing Officer in Lambeth and progressing to a number of executive and non-executive leadership roles in the sector, including eight years as the Chair of Gateway Housing Association.  In recent years he has worked extensively in the international development field, including senior roles at VSO and Save The Children.

Jon takes over from outgoing Chair Jonathan Senker, who is passing the baton after 20 years as a Trustee of SHP and 16 years as Chair of the Board. Read Jonathan’s farewell blog here.

Jon Rosser said: “I am very committed to supporting the mission of SHP to tackle the appalling levels of homelessness that exist now in London, and to ensuring that vulnerable homeless people get the support they need.

“Much of my career was spent in social housing in London so I am well aware of the housing crisis facing Londoners and of the need for effective support for people who become homeless.

“I have big shoes to fill as I take on the role from Jonathan Senker, who has provided such outstanding leadership to SHP for so many years. I look forward to working with Chief Executive Liz Rutherfoord, the Trustees and SHP staff as we shape the future strategy of the organisation and ensure that it can continue to meet the needs of thousands of London’s most vulnerable and excluded people.”
