Five pieces of artwork produced by two SHP clients will be showcased at an exclusive art show this Friday in the heart of London’s West End.

The exhibition - organised by Overbury, the UK’s leading office fit out and refurbishment specialist - is a kick-off event for London Design Festival, which starts next Monday 14 September. The other artwork on display has been donated by Overbury’s clients and designers who they work with - with all pieces being auctioned off and proceeds donated to SHP.

Michael, a resident of our Redbridge accommodation service, and George, a resident in one of our Westminster hostels, will see their work exhibited alongside the work of other artists and designers.

Michael (pictured) who specialises in painting, said: “I was truly elated to hear my artwork would be exhibited in the West End. It’s truly amazing and beyond my dreams. Alongside the fact that I am starting University soon, it’s been a brilliant few weeks!”

Michael, who regularly volunteers with SHP’s art programme, believes having the opportunity to develop his art has been vital to his recovery. He is due to start a BA in Fine Art at the University of East London in the coming weeks. You can read his story here.

Meghan O’Malley, SHP’s Arthouse Lead, said: “I’m truly delighted that Michael and George have had their talent recognised, and will have the chance to see their work in a public exhibition.

“Over the next few weeks and months, we’re working to hold more exhibitions, showcasing the amazing artwork produced in our sessions and showing people what our clients are capable of.”
