As the number of Londoners infected with Covid-19 coronavirus rises daily, the homeless people SHP supports across the capital are even more vulnerable than ever.

If coronavirus hits our clients, it could have a catastrophic impact. More than 50% of the people living in our hostels are at high risk, with chronic underlying health issues.

This is an unprecedented crisis. We still don’t know the full impact the virus will have for the people we support, but we’re determined to do everything we possibly can to protect them.

This includes:

  • Equipping all our hostels with materials, like hand sanitiser and protective clothing, to keep staff and clients safe
  • Creating self-isolation spaces in hostels to prevent clients with symptoms from infecting others.
  • Making funds available to help the vulnerable homeless people in our hostels to purchase food and other necessities if they can’t afford to.
  • Address staff shortages, providing cover for the shifts in hostels when our staff are ill or self-isolating
  • Help us to continue to offer vital emotional/practical support to homeless people in our care through our Opportunities programme

This is where we need your help. We urgently need donations, in cash or in kind, for the following items:
