Winter is the most challenging time when you are sleeping rough. Every day, homeless people in London face freezing temperatures in the night and rainy cold days, whilst our capital is under lockdown.

Since the beginning of the year, we have noticed an increase in the number of people sleeping rough on the streets of LondonWe know that many of them have recently lost their jobs and homes because of the pandemic

Sadly, when the pandemic happened, I lost my job and was unable to support myself. I was renting a room, but couldn’t afford the rent and had to leave. I had nowhere to go and no money so I ended up sleeping on the streets.  - Tomasz

Sadly, Tomasz is not alone. There are now 48% more young people sleeping rough compared to this time last year.

We all need a home to build a life and thrive and for many, the first step is an SHP winter shelter. We need your help to get people like Tomasz off the streets and back on their feet.
