Floating Support Service

SHP provides support services to tenants in social housing and the private rented sector.

The service supports tenants who may be at immediate risk of homelessness, or vulnerable to homelessness by helping them on issues such as rent arrears, repairs, income maximisation and neighbour problems.

Our Support Workers work with individuals and families through Keywork sessions, building relationships that allow us to bring specialist skills into play in addressing underlying problems such as mental health or substance use.

We also provide a valuable service to Estate Managers when tackling issues such as arrears and anti-social behaviour.

The SHP Floating Support Service can often assist in the development of more constructive relationships between tenants and their Landlords, thereby improving the quality of the housing management service provided both to our service users and to other members of the local community.

These services are located in Hackney, Islington, Newham and Waltham Forest.

We also able to offer support services to people placed in bed and breakfast hotels, and other types of Local Authority temporary accommodation.
