More about Ashley Road

An important focus of Ashley Road is to provide a safe and secure environment, to help clients bring stability to their lives. Ashley Road aims to minimise harm from substance use and enable those who are ready to access appropriate treatment services.

Clients are supported through keywork sessions with project workers. To promote social relationships and meaningful use of time, clients are encouraged to take part in activities such as SHP’s art projects or learning and achievement events. Ashley Road also runs regular cooking workshops, gardening sessions, breakfast clubs and weekly DVD nights, as well as regular house meetings.

The project works closely with community-based health and care services, police and probation and the local community.

The project is staffed 24/7 by a minimum of two staff and a night security officer. If necessary, out-of-hours management advice and presence is accessible in through SHP’s on-call service.

House Rules

Clients are issued with a tenure agreement and a set of house rules. These will be explained when prospective clients are interviewed. This includes rules on smoking, which is only permitted in clients’ bedrooms.

The service operates within SHP’s drug policy, which covers the use of all drugs including illegal or controlled drugs. In order to offer a secure and stable environment for everyone, no visitors are allowed.
