Hackney Floating support opens its doors!

7 June 2017

SHP in Hackney is holding an open day for local Hackney residents to find out more about the charity and the service it delivers in the community, as well as celebrate the vital work the charity does.

SHP’s Hackney Floating Support provides housing-related support to help people manage their accommodation and live independently and inclusively in the community. The service helps local residents with a range of issues, including tenancy sustainment, managing money and getting back into education, training or employment.

The open day – on Wednesday 7 June – will showcase the vital work the team does, and celebrates the importance of the service in the community. It is also a chance for local residents to find out more about the service, and the work the charity does to help people living in Hackney.

Current clients, people who have benefited from the service and local councillors and commissioners will all be attending the event.

Attendees will be able to find out more about the charity, hear stories from people who have used the service, and take part in a Q and A session.

Shreya Raval, SHP Service Manager for Hackney Floating Support, said: “We work with 345 people in Hackney, supporting residents with a variety of issues ranging from being discharged form hospital, getting back into work, to managing tenancies. We are a vital lifeline for many Hackney residents, and our open day is a chance to celebrate the important work that we do in the community.

“It is also a chance for people to come along and learn about what we do – whether you might need help, or are just interested in finding out more about us, the day is for everyone.”

The open day is being held on Wednesday 7 June, from 2-4.30pm at Frampton Baptist Church.
