Can I send a cover letter with CV?

No, people always have to use our application form.

Can I volunteer with SHP?

Yes, our volunteering opportunities are carefully structured to support people looking to get back into work (particularly our clients), as well as to harness the skills and experience of others willing to support our mission.

Volunteering opportunities are advertised in the ‘Work for Us’ section. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please contact us to explain how you would like to get involved.

Do I have to wait for a locum vacancy to be advertised to apply as locum?

Yes (but we are working on changing that).

Are tests part of the recruitment process?

Yes. The recruitment process always involves an interview and a test of some kind. Occasionally you will be asked to make a presentation or even take part in a role play.

Would you accept a recent DBS check from another employer?

No, we always have to start a new one for those job roles that require us to check CRB.

Does having an offending history prohibit me from working at SHP?

No. This is dependent on the nature of the role and the offence. If you are in doubt contact the HR Manager.

Do you sponsor work permits?

No.

Is SHP based in one office?

SHP has three close but separate head office buildings near King's Cross, and many more offices in projects across 17 London boroughs. The size of the office varies according to the size of the project - check the job information for more information.
