Additional referral information
We are not able to provide the service for:
- Those who do not meet the basic referral criteria or have too low support needs
- Those whose risk assessments reveal a level of risk that the project is unable to support or work with at the time of referral
Refused referrals may be resubmitted and subsequently accepted in the light of more information or a change in the projects ability to meet the presenting needs.
Appeals
Appeals can be made in writing to the service manager in the first instance who will respond within seven working days.
A referrer who is still not satisfied can use the formal complaints procedure to take the matter to SHP’s regional services manager who can be contacted in writing at the Grays Inn Road address. This can be found in the SHP Office Directory.
Any referrals or refusal to take referrals that are considered inappropriate can be reported to the Supporting People team.
SHP is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all, offering services fairly and without discrimination
